A team from MIT has successfully developed a new technique to engineer wood by sourcing, manipulating and growing plant specific tissues in a laboratory setting. This not only eliminates wastage but can revolutionize the production of bio-materials, as it is possible to grow exactly desired shapes of wood, thus minimizing the dependence on conventional forestry and as a result, help in reducing deforestation.

Great ideas I didn't even know eg growing wood in a lab. Just heard blood can also be grown in a lab. Why not grow cotton as well? And oh, nice graphics. Who made them?
