The necessity of a liquid cooler may be determined by your CPU and the demanding nature of your gaming or other activities. If you are on a low-cost system on a budget, air coolers would be adequate; however, for mid-range or higher CPUs it is advisable to use a liquid cooler to avoid the effects of thermal throttling. When selecting a liquid cooler, do not choose a 120 mm liquid cooler, Rather choose a 240 mm and above AIOs which provide superior cooling performance. Consider that the cooler must fit the CPU's TDP and the dimensions of the case.
