Are there any reports of users working with both iPhone 16 and 16 Pro and observing differences in their performance?

The performance gap is the least it has ever been in years with both the A18 and A18 Pro using similar CPU layouts. Nevertheless, the A18 Pro chip embedded in the 16 Pro comes with an extra GPU core which makes it nearly 20% quicker which is good for gamers.

idk why you considering a phone being lighter is a con....A phone is a mobile device and portability is an important factor. Being lighter is 100% a pro for me

I ditched the PRO models this year because regular 16 is lighter! Yes, lighter weight is more premium than a telephoto lens that i seldom use, and the 120hz display while nice is not exactly noticeable for day to day tasks.

I have the 16 and 16pro. I must say the regular 16 is lighter and nicer to use if you want a mobile that is light and easy to use.

I switched from 15 pro to 16 plus and honestly don’t notice the difference. I’m loving the larger screen and don’t feel I’ve sacrificed anything for my use case.

I had an earlier Pro. The extra weight was annoying. I've got the standard iPhone 16 and I really can't tell the difference from the 120 Hz promotion display but maybe that's because I don't play any games. I also found app using Lidar to be not very useful in practice - they were messy to use and not very accurate. The standard iPhone 16 has a really good camera for me, the battery life is excellent and everything is slick and buttery smooth.

IMO - If you are not a serious photographer or a heavy game player the standard iPhone 16 is the better choice - it'll give you the same experience as the Pro but cheaper and lighter.

The difference between the 16 & Plus vs the Pros is literally one camera lens, 120hz, and an extra core. The bezels being thinner are actually a no if you don’t have a case on it. The 16 is a solid iphone.

16 pro does seems better choice than regular 16, but my opinion is that 16 pro is overpriced and the battery on regular 16 holds longer etc … regular 16 is “go for it”… still using iPhone 12 mini ❤

Thank you. Makes my decision to purchase which phone a lot easier.

I'm currently on my iphone 12 mini in desperate need of an upgrade. While I wish I still had mini options, that's out of the question now. I've held off on upgrading because I love the size of my mini but like I said, I'm in need of an upgrade now unfortunately because my mini is just not cutting it anymore. The battery dies halfway through my shift at work even though I'll only use it for around 5-10 minutes every hour or 2 and that's just unacceptable. When my phone is charging and on standby mode, if I get a call, I have to do so many swipes that a lot of times, the call ended before I even got a chance to answer it. I'm running the latest iOS developer beta and it's pretty clear that my phone just can't handle it anymore. I have had my eye on the 16 pro since it was released and right now I have $1000 saved up to buy a phone without cutting into any of my budgeted money. I'm short $60 for sales tax though so I was considering just settling for the regular 16 but seeing those bezels... Idk about that lol. I want to upgrade and NOT regret not getting XYZ phone because I've so been out of the annual upgrade game for so long and I need longevity in whatever I upgrade to now and I'll be happier with the 16 pro than the regular 16. Even though I want to just upgrade today, I'd rather just wait until next week to set aside the sales tax and just get the pro. Honestly, if you do a little more than just calls and text on your phone and looking to upgrade and longevity is what you're looking for, I'd recommend going the pro route too. Nothing wrong with the regular 16 but the pro gets you better hardware period and you're only paying an extra hundred bucks or so but it'll last you much longer. Like the aluminum sides of my 12 mini started getting WRECKED so fast and while I do keep my phones case free, I rarely ever drop them. Just from normal dings here and there and contact with keys in my pocket the sides are all dented and scratched. Far less likely to happen on a titanium rail. Plus the better camera array and you stay open to big improvements to iOS down the road. The 16 is fine if you just want a new phone but if you NEED a new phone and don't want to upgrade again for the next few years, I'd go with the pro
