I’m currently in need of a new gaming CPU, and I’m leaning towards either AMD or Intel. Which of the two should I pick?

The choice of a gaming CPU, whether it is an AMD or an Intel processor, is greatly determined by the cost, performance, power consumption, and the current flaws on some models. Intel, as the historical leader in this CPU category, faced tougher competition with consumers shifting towards AMD and its Ryzen family. However, at the time of the shooting, Intel was having issues with their 13th and 14th generation processors. You may want to see the current trends, cath the benchmarks, asses the viability of the platform before making the final decision.

I'll be very honest with you, I'm still using Intel because despite some minor flaws, it hasn't let me down and now that I'm building a new PC, I think I'm going to stick with them until the end.

Thank you! SUPER helpful and it looks like, after 47 years of being alive, I might be making the switch from Intel to AMD! I'm sick of obsessively staring at my CPU temps whilst playing Alphas.

My brother got himself a Ryzen 7 7800X3D with (2X16GB)32GB DDR5 5600MHz CL36 ram and an RTX 4080 non super with a 1000W Gold Rated PSU. He is rocking a 1080p 240Hz monitor. Meanwhile I am rocking a Ryzen 5 5500 with (4X8GB)32GB DDR4 3200MHz CL16 ram and an RTX 3050 8GB. I am rocking a 1080p 144HZ monitor 650W Silver Rated PSU.

I'm surpassing my 360hz OLED with 14900k + 4090.    Zero issues thank God.   Plus workflow with Adobe all in favor with Intel.
