Definitely, the type of power plan selected does affect performance. For desktop computers, the use of the ‘High performance’ power plan is recommended; it can be found in Power Options. This plan, however increases power consumption to enhance the pc efficiency. For laptops, this is a disadvantage if you are not connected to the mains because it uses the battery up much quicker.

Thanks, this did help me a lot, but I had issues with the advanced settings where once I enabled them my PC felt a lot slower than before, so I just disabled what I didn't want. The rest was perfect, and malwarebytes works well. Thanks!

Roughly how much will the cost of electricity be if I put the pc on a high performance power plan and hardware accelerated GPU? Thank you for the content.

Never turn on high performance power plan in system settings or nvidia gpu settings. It makes your cpu and or gpu clock constantly maxed and will cause extra wear and heat on your system with no performance increase.
