There are two main reasons why dumbbell presses are more common than barbell presses in a minimalist workout routine. First, dumbbells are less time-consuming in terms of loading and unloading plates. Second, dumbbells provide a higher range of motion which is much needed in times when there are fewer exercises. A coupled exercsice such as the dumbbell press which provides a great stretch on the pecs can be more advantageous for muscle growth.

Fresh haircut Jeff, looking sharp. Big fan of minimalistic training styles. What is your thoughts on doing a circular 3 exercise training style? Example: Dips | Pullups | Abs (rest) x3 rounds. And next workout ex. do Bsplit squat | shoulderpress | curls. Yes cardio is a factor here, but in time doing 3 exercises in order should be doable as long they are not on the same muscle group. I found this can be super time efficient, gives some cardio benefit and my strength has actually improved in some areas. Not a routine for someone who wants to be a fulltime bodybuilder but for someone working long hours and need to get in a workout it has done wonders for me. Also the waiting time or need for equipment is usually a lot lower and you can easy do it more times a week if you want to increase frequency on the muscle groups. Downside is if you're a gym rat, spending 20 min on the gym every time is maybe too efficient :D
