Can gentle exercise help with relaxation?

What I’ve been hearing is that a gentle type of exercise needs to be done for purposes of relaxation. Has anyone tried it?

A light workout may also be useful in reducing stress. Yoga as well as Pilates, easily performed stretches, or a simple stroll can all be beneficial for you as well. The main focus is to do it in a comfortable manner so that by participating in the exercise, the area of concern or the body can be de-stressed.

I have always felt that rest and relaxation are just as important as hard work, although it’s easy to forget. We all need to kick back and recover from all the stresses that life can bring. Being an athlete, I had to learn this the hard way with numerous over-use injuries over the years. But I think at least for now, that I have finally reached a point in my life where I can balance hard work and play time.

It's not enough good to relax & it's takes your energy too but the one breathing is good as it comes under yoga.

It is important when you sometimes relax. And this content is very helpful. I especially like the 4th advice. The thoughts of relaxing place are really soothing.
