What is the rationale behind the recommendation that some investors give of buying stocks on red days?

There is an adage that says one must buy stocks on red days since it is a discount day. It is like buying an item in sale; you pay less and get the same. The only difference is when the recession is over, the price of these shares should increase due to investment demand or interest.

I suggest you offset your real estate and get into stocks, A recession as bad it can be, provides good buying opportunities in the markets if you’re careful and it can also create volatility giving great short time buy and sell opportunities too. This is not financial advise but get buying, cash isn’t king at all in this time!

I love the way you say "You want to buy it on red which mean you buy it on discount" Not saying he's wrong but i find it funny cuz i expect that that will be the right word for audience but most likely for him to not say it and boom, he said it
