The stack height of a running shoe can increase its functionality. If one has a higher stack height, he/she is generally able to cushion more, and such a feature is good for long and comfortable runs. On the other hand, there may also be some runners who would want to have a lower stack height because that may allow them a better feel of the ground which may be useful in faster paces or racing. The most important task is to choose the stack height which provides a good degree of both splash on the shoe and feedback from the shoe, as per individual liking and running requirements.
