Is it beneficial to regard an activity as an enjoyable pastime instead of doing it for physical activity?

Research indicates that individuals who treat physical work as fun instead of a chore, tend to avoid overeating desserts or snacks, suggesting that enjoyable exercise may be beneficial for both health and physical performance.’

Takeaways:
• Surround yourself w/ intrinsically motivated ppl. Crowded gyms, study groups, cowork spaces.
• Volunteer instructors over paid instructors.
• Fun. Dance classes, volleyball league, & frisbee w/ mates instead of treadmill.

Ive always said don’t exercise for exercise sake. Go to a skatepark, no one is there “to exercise” — it’s a byproduct of fun

So THAT's why I don't want go to the gym or swim... It's all boring. Unfortunately, I don't think I have any other options to lose weight unless I some got my love of gaming involved somehow. The only thing I can think of is VR equipment but that stuff is extremely expensive. Exercise as a whole is boring to me so this will be the hardest thing I have to come up with to motivate me.
