In order to maintain motivation at work, one should try recalling the reasons for taking the job in the first place. Among such reasons can be the appreciation for the mission of the organization, being of assistance to colleagues and resolving certain issues. Remembering these intrinsic motivators can alleviate the tension of tedious or challenging work.

A big thing is to not punish yourself for doing the wanted behaviour. A lot of people (me included) will do a task and then go "Oh I should've done it earlier, I'm the worst" You need positive reinforcement, especially from yourself. Say "It was hard to get started, and I took a step towards my goal today. I'm helping out future me!"

No matter the source of your motivation self discipline becomes essential at some point. When I'm faced with decisions requiring self discipline, I always say, choose the right thing to do and I tend to choose the right thing not the convenient one, like studying instead of napping or eating healthy instead of a calorie bomb. It helps me.

For me, establishing a grander goal, and breaking down the necessary steps into a hierarchy under said goal helps. Working on every such small step I recall its meaning by thinking of where it fits in. It's not about visualizing or fantasizing (about) an outcome—it's meaning and a sense of accomplishment (where a metric helps, too).

One of the best ways to stay motivated is to ask yourself why you were doing something

1. Convince yourself you want to do it.

One of the easiest things you can do to motivate yourself is to think of the work you're about to do as not being so hard, after all.

2. Take control.

While it's easy to be overwhelmed by various personal and professional responsibilities, you can help yourself stay focused by keeping in mind that, at the very least, you are in control of your own actions.

3. Surround yourself with other people who are working hard.

No man (or woman!) is an island. In order to pursue your goals with everything you have, it's helpful to be around other people who are working just as hard.

4. Break up your tasks into smaller tasks.

"Break your hard work into component parts; it makes it easier to see where the obstacles are so you can be prepared to overcome them

5. Stay focused.

It's difficult to motivate yourself to keep working if you're not able to concentrate on the task at hand.

6. Remember your "why."

Nothing is more motivating than reminding yourself why you're doing the work in the first place. Whether you're building a product you love or simply putting food on the table for your family, it's crucial that you remain in touch with what inspires you.

7. Stay positive.

As anyone will tell you, failure is inevitable, but it's how you deal with failure that determines whether you will ultimately be successful.

8. Motivating product actually helps.

90 percent of those who keeps motivated and determine all the time wears Motivating T-shirts or getting mugs that has motivating quote on it I truly recommend you those :

sometimes when I'm struggling to find motivation to do something like going to gym or getting up for the day instead of snoozing the alarm it helps to tell myself to do it out loud. I'll be laying in bed and have to say " Ok, you have to get up now."

My way to staying motivated is veeery simple - think, plan, do, reward. I learned this from a great book by Terry Lämqvist - How to fight procrastination. I can really recommend it.
