How should you talk to a baby?

On my way to research some information I had planned, however, I got involved in discussion on tips on how to communicate with babies and young children.

Many people believe that it is important to speak to a baby with a higher and more melodious voice which is not necessary. It is perfectly acceptable to talk to a baby as one would talk to any other person. Just use your regular voice and converse with them as you would with any other person.
